Welcome

I’m Ola Godbeer.
I make bespoke liturgical vestments and textiles and I’m devoted to creating beauty that lifts hearts toward God and reflects His glory.

A Calling, not just a Craft

I’ve always been drawn to making beautiful things — but in time I came to see it as more than a creative skill. Craftsmanship is a charism of the Holy Spirit, a gift to be received with gratitude and offered back to God.

When I began sewing vestments, the joy was immediate — and so was the sense that the Lord was inviting me deeper: to create not simply what is beautiful, but what serves Him and gives Him glory.

“And you shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty.”

Exodus 28:2
A glimpse of Glory

Each vestment is an offering — a quiet act of worship, a humble glimpse of God’s majesty and glory.

The Church teaches that vestments have a twofold purpose: they signify the role of the priest, and they help reveal and enhance the beauty and sacredness of the rites they serve. Like everything in the liturgy, they are meant to glorify God. (General Instruction of the Roman Missal)

Beauty matters. Whether in architecture, art, music, ritual, or vestments, it awakens awe and wonder, draws us deeper into prayer, and lifts the heart toward the Lord.

SELEVARE echoes both Selah and elevare — a reverend stillness and a lifting up — gathered into one word. That is the kind of beauty I hope these pieces may serve.

Not sure where to begin? Share a little about your parish, and we can discern what would serve your liturgy best.

“Let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us and establish the work of our hands for us.”

Psalm 90:17
